TRANSPORT & PLANT

Sonic Rail Services operates its own fleet of vehicles from Vauxhall Corsas to Volvo FH16 lorries, enabling fast, reactive response to Railway and Civil Engineering requirements. By managing our own HGV and LGV fleet we do not rely upon sub-contractor hauliers and are able to serve our clients at short notice.

The extent of our plant ranges from small cable crimpers to 100kva generators. Most of the plant used on our jobs is owned, serviced & maintained by SRS, giving us the flexibility to deliver jobs without reliance on external hire companies.

With Transit Vans to 20ft containers purpose converted to welfare units we can supply everything required onsite to achieve all welfare requirements.

Sonic Rail Services are able to work with their clients to deliver contracts no matter the challenges. Photographs below show the delivery of a new rectifier at Farringdon, for which a specific trailer was purpose built by SRS's own engineers to travel beneath Smithfield market in London.

The height restrictions and tight turns in Smithfields basement car park necessitated the development of a bespoke trailer with front and rear steer system whilst having a particularly low deck. The rectifier was transferred from its trailer to the final concrete base using a hydraulic jack lift system and conventional slide, working within the restricted space available. No trailer on the market could have fulfilled the needs of this site.
